https://www.3dhubs.com/calgary/events/sait-engineering-technologies-tour
Hey Everyone,
I am excited to announce another upcoming event in Calgary. This event is aimed to open all of our eyes to how industry is using 3d printing, and other manufacturing technologies, and applying it to product design and development.
Where: SAIT Technology Demonstration Theatre - CA415 which is on the fourth floor of the Aldred Centre (the new building that runs along 16th Ave NW with the wavy roof).
Map - http://www.sait.ca/Documents/About%20SAIT/Campuses/sait-campus-map-june-...
When: 6:30-8:00PM on Thursday, November 19
Why: Come hear from Jim Nikkel, who is a Research Associate with SAIT's Sports and Wellness Engineering Technologies, about how they apply 3d printing and other manufacturing techniques to product design, testing and analysis.
Here is a bit more information on the program at SAIT:
In 2005, the Sports and Wellness Engineering Technologies (SWET) research group at SAIT was originally established to align with Canada's national sports organizations and develop made-in-Canada equipment to give our Olympic athletes a leg up on the international playing field. Since then, the research group has expanded its scope of work to include prototype design and manufacturing, and product design, testing and analysis.
Service Offerings
· Manufacturing
· Engineering, design and analysis
· Rapid prototyping (3D printing)
· 3D scanning
· Materials analysis, selection and testing
· Computational fluid dynamics and aerodynamic assessment
· Independent product testing
We carry three commercial 3d printers including a Fortus 400mc, Object30 Scholar and Zprinter 650. These printers are all designed to offer high precision in a variety of materials.
